Happier times...Wrestlemania 4 with the beautiful Miss Elizabeth. Both gone too soon.

RIP Macho Man.  Very sad day indeed.  With heavy hearts, onto baseball news…

Angels 2B Howie Kendrick sat out Friday night with a sore hamstring.

Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez didn’t start due to a groin injury, however he came on to pinch hit once the game went into extra innings and made an out.

Blue Jays SP Jesse Litsch went on the DL with a shoulder injury.

Pirates 3B Pedro Alvarez sat out with his recurring quad problem.  That and he strikes out too much.  Did I say that out loud?

Indians DH Travis Hafner was put on the DL with an oblique injury.

Phillies OF Shane Victorino was officially put on the DL with a hamstring injury.  They called up their top prospect Domonic Brown, however he didn’t play on Friday.

The A’s put SPs Brandon McCarthy & Tyson Ross on the DL.

Rays OF BJ Upton left the game after the 2nd inning with a glute injury.  What a pain in the ass!

The Rays also sat out rookie OF Sam Fuld.  He’s been slumping at the plate recently, hitting only .152 in May.

Cardinals OF Lance Berkman missed Friday night’s game, however Matt Holliday returned and went 1-3.

Brewers OF Ryan Braun returned to the lineup, and then proceeded to get plunked by a pitch right on his bad left shoulder.  What the H?

Indians rookie SP Alex White left after 3 innings with middle finger soreness.  He wasn’t saying hello to his friends in Philly, he got hit with a comebacker.

The Nationals beat up on the Orioles 17-5.  Lots of offense here, well for the Nats anyway.  OF Jayson Werth went 3-4 with 2 HR & 4 RBI.  2B Danny Espinoza went 3-4 and came up a double shy of the cycle.  He hit a single, triple, homer, scored 3 runs and knocked in 5 runs.  C Wilson Ramos finished a single shy of the cycle going 3-4 with a 2B, 3B, HR, 2 RBI & 5 runs scored.  On the other end of this onslaught was Orioles SP Jake Arrieta.  Ah..onto the bad news.  He gave up 6 runs & 6 hits in just 3 2/3 innings.

White Sox closer…well maybe he was the interim?  But with 20 straight innings without allowing a run, something had to give.  Sergio Santos gave up a game-tying pinch hit HR with 2 outs in the 9th to Russ Mitchell.  Then he went out in the top of the 10th and gave up 3 more runs on 4 hits.  Since the White Sox bullpen is so lousy, I don’t think he’s in danger of losing his job anytime soon.

Roayls SP Jeff Francis shutout the Cardinals over 7 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 walks and 6 Ks.  Chris Carpenter was on the losing end of yet another decision.

Mariners SP Erik Bedard went 8 shutout innings for the win over the Padres 4-1.  He gve up 3 hits with 2 walks and 9 Ks.  SP Mat Latos took the loss to fall to 1-6.

The Red Sox now have a 7 game winning streak after blowing out the Cubs in a historic visit to Fenway.  First time they have played there since the 1918 World Series.  1B Adrian Gonzalez went 4-6 with a run & 4 RBI.  3B Kevin Youkilis went 3-5 with a homer, 2 doubles, 2 runs & 3 RBI.

Astros speedy OF Michael Bourn went 3-4 with a run, RBI & 2 SBs giving him 16 on the season in the Astros comeback win over their interleague “rival” Toronto Blue Jays.

The Pirates crept closer to .500 with their 10-1 lambasting of the Tigers.  2B Neil Walker…remember he’s not a Texas Ranger, he’s a Pittsburgh Pirate.  He went 2-5 with a 2B, HR & 5 RBI.

Phillies ace Roy Halladay went 8 innings and gave up 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk & 7 Ks in their 3-2 win over the Rangers.  Texas SP CJ Wilson went 7 innings, gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 BBs & 10 Ks.

Angels SP Ervin Santana threw a CG shutout against the Braves.  He gave up 4 hits(all singles) with no walks & 7 Ks.  1B Mark Trumbo went 3-4 with a double, HR & 3 RBI.  Braves SP Tim Hudson took the loss giving up 8 runs on 7 hits in 3 2/3 innings.
