I saw you...AND HIM....walking in the rain...

4 games on Tuesday night were washed away due to rain. Pirates/Nationals, Blue Jays/Tigers, Orioles/Red Sawx, Marlins/Mets.

Mets 3B David Wright was placed on the DL with a stress fracture in his back.  Probably from trying to carry that woeful team on his back all season.

Reds RP Aroldis Chapman was placed on the DL with shoulder inflammation.  Yeah sure..that’s what it was.

Yankees RP Rafael Soriano went on the DL with an elbow injury.  It was his right one, the same one that’s given him many problems in the past.

Yankees OF Nick Swisher missed Tuesday night’s game with an illness.  Must have looked at the standings.  He was quoted as saying he hasn’t felt this bad since that Anita Bryant concert.

White Sox 3B Mark Teahan went on the DL with a strained right oblique.

Red Sox SP Dice K went on the DL with elbow problems.

Cardinals OF Colby Rasmus sat out Tuesday night’s game with an abdominal issue.

Astros SP Wandy Rodriguez battled Braves SP Derek Lowe in a pitcher’s duel Tuesday afternoon.  Astros 1B Brett Wallace hit a solo shot in the 7th that looked to be enough until closer Mark Melancon came in and gave up a solo bomb to Braves C Brian McCann to tie it up at 1.  In the 11th inning McCann came up big again with a 2-run homer to win the game for Atlanta.  Wandy went 8 shutout innings, giving up 5 hits, 2 walks and 6 Ks.  Lowe went 7 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 R, 0 walks and 4 Ks.

Yankees DH Jorge Posada was back in the lineup Tuesday against a RHP.  He batted 7th and went 2-3 as the Yankees snapped their 6 game losing streak.  The last time the Yankees had a 6 game losing streak you ask?  The 2000 season.  Ask Mets fans how that one turned out.  AROD went 2-4 with 2 solo homers.

Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols was back at 1B tonight after playing 3B Monday night.  He went 3-5 in the Cardinals win.  SP Jaime Garcia went 8 scoreless innings, giving up 5 hits, with a walk and 5 Ks but did not factor in the decision.  Phillies SP Roy Oswalt came off the DL and received a ND as well.  He went 5 innings, giving up 7 hits, a run, a walk, and 3 Ks.

The Cleveland Indians have the best record in baseball.  Wait what?  DH Travis Hafner went 2-4 with a 2B, R & 3 RBIs.

White Sox closer Sergio Santos picked up his 6th save in Chicago’s 4-3 win over Texas.  He hasn’t let up a run in 20 innings thus far.  He also sports a 23/9 K:BB ratio.

Twins SP Francisco Liriano picked up the win going 7 strong innings, giving up only 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 9 Ks.  Tough luck loser Felix Hernandez went 8 innings, giving up 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks & 9 Ks.

Diamondbacks SP Dan Hudson got the win going 7 innings and scattering 8 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and 6 Ks.

Dodgers SP Hudoki Kuroda threw 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball against the Brewers giving up 6 hits, 2 walks and 7 Ks in the 3-0 win.

A’s 2B Mark Ellis went 3-4 with 3 runs and 4 RBI in the A’s domination of the Angels.  RED DRAGONS!  They covered the 2 touchdown spread.  A’s SP Gio Gonzalez went 7 scoreless giving up only 1 hit with a walk and 7 Ks.

The Braves are calling up Julio Teheran from AAA to pitch Wednesday’s game.
