Beware! Pitch to this man at your own peril...

Blue Jays OF Jose Batista set a record on Sunday.  He became the first player to have his photo featured 2 days in a row on FB2K.  Well…maybe not exactly HIS picture, but he was the subject of my lead story.  Yesterday he took over the Major League lead in homers.  Today…he hits 3 more!  Wait what?  You heard me…he now has 16 homers.  He went 3-5 and added 4 RBI to go along with the career high in homers during today’s rout of the Twins.  Oh…and he’s also leading the league in hitting at .368.  Toronto SP Brandon Morrow went 5 innings, giving up 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks & 8 Ks.  Minnesota SP Brian Duensing gave up 7 runs on 8 hits in 3 innings of work.

Phillies SP Roy Oswalt hopes to return Tuesday at St Louis.

Phillies OF Shane Victorino is targeting Wednesday for a return to the lineup.

Padres 3B Chase Headley (Lamar) is expecting his ankle to heal enough for him to return to action on Monday.

Braves OF Jason Heyward is expected back on Tuesday.

Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols suffered a bruised left wrist on Sunday after being hit by an 0-2 in the 9th inning by Reds closer Francisco Cordero.  As if there wasn’t enough bad blood between these teams.  Maybe they can get Michael Buffer to announce their next meeting.

Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind has missed 7 straight games with a back ailment and will sit out Monday’s game too.

Orioles SS JJ Hardy went 2-5 with a grand slam to lead the Orioles over the Rays on Sunday.  SP Jake Arrieta improved to 5-1 while going 6 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks & 7 Ks.

Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter continued his struggles going 6 1/3 innings and giving up 9 hits and 7 earned runs while walking 2 and striking out 5 while the Reds completed their 3 game sweep.  He’s now given up 21 runs and 42 hits in his last 4 starts.  Reds RP Aroldis Chapman pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up 4 walks & 4 runs.  Of the 23 pitches he threw, only 5 were strikes.  That’s 12 walks in his last 1 1/3 IP.

Phillies SP Roy Halladay pitched a CG on Sunday, but lost the game 3-2 to the Braves.  He gave up 8 hits and 3 runs, with 2 walks and 7 Ks.

Brewers OF and Jewish Sports Legend Ryan Braun went 2-3 with a triple, homer and 4 RBIs.

Diamondbacks SP Ian (Mister) Kennedy…not Mr. Anderson, Mr. Kennedy!  He went 6 innings giving up 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 8 Ks in their 4-1 win over the Dodgers.

Padres SP Mat Latos won his first game of the season.  He’s now 1-5 and he broke a 10-game losing streak.  His last victory was 9/7/10.  He went 5 2/3 innings and gave up 4 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks and 5 Ks.

Angels SS Erick Aybar went 3-4 with a homer and 3 RBI.  That’s 2 homers in his last 3 games.  In 510 career games, he only has 14 homers.  Just saying….
