Fans celebrate the triumphant return of FB2K

Finally….FB2K has come back to PlaxicoAgrees.com.  Yes it’s true…it’s DAMN true. There are rumors circulating the internet about PlaxicoAgrees showing up all over a MAJOR and I mean MAJOR sports network’s website. I can neither confirm nor deny anything at this time. Check back for an official statement thru the site at a later date.
Now onto some injury news :
White Sox SP Jake Peavy will return from the DL and make his first start of the season Wednesday vs the Angels. Look for Ozzie to give him around 90 pitches at most.
Angels OF Vernon Wells went on the DL with a right groin strain. Howie Kendrick of all people played LF for the Angels Tuesday night. Wait what?
New York Mets 1B Ike Davis has a strained left calf.
Braves OF Jason Heyward will have an MRI after injuring his right shoulder.
Cubs C Geovany Soto left in the first inning with what they are calling a left groin strain.
Pirates 3B Pedro Alvarez missed Tuesday night’s game against the Dodgers after coming back from his quad injury on Monday night.
Phillies C Carlos Ruiz is due back from the DL on Friday.

GAME NOTES

Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter had another rough outing Tuesday night, but still got his first win of the season against the Cubs after giving up 13 hits and 4 runs in 7 innings.  He’s now given up 10 or more hits in 3 straight starts.  1B Albert Pujols went 4-5 with a double. Eduardo Sanchez picked up his 4th save of the season.

Brewers C Jonathan LeCroy went 3-4 with a double, a run, and 3 RBI.  Closer John Axford saved his second game in as many nights, and as usual it was ANYTHING but routine.

Blue Jays new closer Frank Francisco blew his first save of the season.  But the Blue Jays rallied to win in 10.  Orioles SS JJ Hardy went 4-5 with his first homer of the season in his first game back off the DL.  Too bad it was in a losing effort.

Red Sox SP Jon Lester went 5 1/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 7 hits with 5 walks in a no decision to the Mariners.

Dodgers OF Matt Kemp went 2-4 with a 3-run homer Tuesday night in their win over the Pirates.  Pittsburgh OF Andrew McCutcheon went 3-4 with 2 solo bombs.

Yankees SP Freddy Garcia improved to 2-2 on the season in the 3-1 victory over the Royals.  He went 6 innings and gave up 1 run on 6 hits with 2 walks and 3 Ks.  SS Derk Jeter went 2-4 with a run & RBI and raised his average to .283 on the season.  Closer Mariano Rivera picked up his Major League leading 13th save.  He’s allowed no runs and only 2 baserunners in his last 6 appearances.  His WHIP is 0.84 & his ERA is 1.62.

Marlins ace Josh Johnson outdueled Phillies ace Roy Halladay in the Marlins 2-1 victory.  Johnson went 7 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 run, 3 walks and 7 Ks.  Halladay earned the CG in defeat.  He surrendered 2 runs on 5 hits with 2 walks and 7 Ks.  He’s now allowed 2 runs or fewer in 7 of 8 starts this year.  Marlins OF Chris Coughlan went 2-4 with a double & an RBI.

Reds SP Homer Bailey improved to 2-0 in his 2 starts since coming off the DL.  He went 7 innings in beating the Astros, allowing 0 runs and 5 hits with no walks and 5 Ks.  Reliever Aroldis Chapman gave up 3 walks and 3 runs without recording an out.  He’s given up 6 earned runs and 8 walks in his last 3 appearances.  Astros SP Brett Myers was knocked around for 6 runs, 10 hits, 4 walks and 8 Ks in 6 innings of work.

Rangers DH Michael Young went 3-4 with a triple, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs.  He’s now hitting .349 & tied for the AL lead in RBIs with 28.

Twins SP Francisco Liriano left the game after 3 innings against Detroit after giving up 4 runs on 3 hits with 3 walks and a strikeout.  He missed his start Monday night with a sore throat.  Tigers C Victor Martinez went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI.

White Sox SP John Danks fell to 0-6 on the season after losing to the Angels Tuesday night.  He gave up 10 hits and 6 runs in 5 innings.

Giants SP Tim Lincecum and Diamondbacks SP Ian Kennedy had the best pitchers duel of the night, when Johnson/Halladay dominated the headlines.  They both went 8 strong innings in a 0-0 game.  Lincecum gave up 4 hits and 2 walks with 9 Ks thru 8 before turning it over to THE BEARD.  (Mister) Kennedy gave up 4 hits and 3 walks with 8 Ks before departing after 8 innings.  What the H??  I guess this is why I stay up most of the night, to give you up to the minute updates.  The Giants win 1-0 in the bottom of the 9th.  Brian Wilson takes the win and David Hernandez the loss.  That’s all the games for tonight.  Stay classy San Diego.
