Ozzie Guillen's new signal to the bullpen...

Yes, the White Sox bullpen imploded once again, wasting a fine pitching performance by John Danks. Danks threw 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits with 3 walks and 7 Ks. The Oakland A’s scored 6 runs over the 9th & 10th innings against Ozzie’s “committee”. Chris Sale started it off…and got no outs while giving up 3 hits and all 3 of his runners came around to score. Jesse Crain gave up a walk to load the bases and then got a strikeout. Then Matt Thornton came in and preceded to blow his 4th save of the season. That’s right…he’s 0-4 in save chances so far this year. His line looked like so…1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 1K..oh and the Loss.

Now some injury updates and game notes…

Yankees 5th starter Freddy Garcia will make his first start of the season on Saturday.

Reds SP Edinson Volquez injured his right big toe on Tuesday night, that’s why he left after 6 innings.  He says he’s fine to make his next start.

Reds 2B Brandon Phillips left Wednesday night’s game with a groin injury.

The Red Sox/Rays game was rained out Wednesday night.

The Yankees battered Orioles SP Chris Tillman around.   Tillman gave up 9 hits and 6 runs in just 1 2/3 innings.  AROD was back in the lineup after battling a flu bug and hit a 3 run homer.  That gives him 4 homers and 8 RBIs in 9 games played.  SS Derek Jeter went 2-4 with 2 runs & a RBI…Girardi is sticking with him in the #2 hole for now.

Josh Hamilton owners may want to take a look at Rangers OF David Murphy.  1-4 with an RBI & 2 stolen bases today.  He will be benefit the most from the injury to Hamilton.

The Cardinals bats exploded for 15 runs against the Diamondbacks Wednesday night.  D’Backs SP Ian (Mister) Kennedy was lit up for 9 runs on 7 hits in 3 IP.  Lance Berkman remained en fuego by hitting a grand slam.  He got an early rest in the game and ended up going 1-3 with 2 R & 5 RBIs.  1B Albert Pujols contributed a 2-3 night with 3 runs & 2 RBIs.

Marlins SP Josh Johnson took a no-hitter into the 8th inning but lost it with one out.  He got the win with the line of 7 1/3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB & 9Ks.

Phillies ace Roy Halladay had another complete game win, but lost the shutout in the 9th.  Ended the night giving up 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks & 9 Ks. (Ho hum).  Also in that game 1B Ryan Howard was hit by a pitch in the right wrist.  Xrays were negative, but he may miss a game or two going forward.
