Breaking Baseball News Sunday 4/3

Evan NOT Almighty...well at least for 15 days.

OK so I’m still going to do my recap tonight, but I wanted to get some breaking news out there, although it’s probably too late to adjust your lineups.

The Rays have placed Evan Longoria on the 15 day DL with a strained oblique.
Braves pitcher Jair Jurrjens is on the 15 DL for a left oblique strain. Mike Minor was called up to take his starts.
Carl Crawford and his 0-7 with 4 K start to the season was bumped to #7 in the batting order today. A lefty is on the mound, so we’ll see if that’s the reason of if Francona is trying to tinker with the lineup due to the team’s slow start.
Joe Mauer routine day off, nothing to see here people.
Ian Stewart of the Rockies is out today with a sore hammy.
Erick Aybar SS for the Angels out with tightness in his left side. CHECK HIS OBLIQUE!!!
Phillies OF Shane Victorino out of today’s lineup after colliding with Ben Francisco last night. Should be OK for Tuesday.
Marlins stud OF Mike Stanton out today with a tight hamstring. Should be fine after the off day Monday.
Tigers OF Magglio Ordonez out with a tweaked ankle. Should be OK going forward.
Just watched Miguel Cabrera hit his 5th homer in his last 7 Yankee Stadium games.  Make that 6.
Also this note from last night..Huston Street got the save for the Rockies last night, but it was as shaky as the Spurs hold on the #1 seed in the Western Conference. He came into the game and promptly gave up a single, a walk, an RBI single, and a blast that a nice catch was made on the warning track on. Then he settled down.
I’ll be back for the wrap up later. Sorry if this news was too late to make any lineup changes.
